FOURDIGIT (THAILAND) is looking for a passionated Design Director, who believe in solving problems through user-centered design approach, to lead and responsible for successful delivery for a range of Experience Design projects including Client projects (research, interaction design, user experience design and service design), Internal development projects and working closely with Client Services team for developing proposal, pitching and sales related project activities.

Role Purpose

To oversee strategic development of creative talents to their full potential, consult with the project teams & clients to find proper solutions based on user-centered design approach and oversee the well-crafted deliverables to be delivered on time and in budget of the desired solution.

Role Accountability

  • Ensure that the Design Services team has strategic development plan to continuous improve overall creative talents’ capabilities
  • Ensure that the project is properly estimated for both schedule & budget from carefully analyze WBS from SOW/Brief from the client
  • Ensure that the product is effectively reflecting client’s branding and convey messages appropriately
  • Ensure that the product is appropriately design for the intended users based on user insights from the user research and serve the business purpose for the client
  • Ensure that the product design is technologically feasible for actual building by engineer with appropriate efforts in a timely manner for the client

Creativity & World-class quality of work 

  • Ability to quickly understand, analyze, and respond to client briefs 
  • Work with the specialists to develop and deliver boundary pushing service concepts 
  • Creativity of output (innovation & beauty) 
  • Completeness and suitability of work (works with client situation) 
  • Lead the creative side of pitch projects and support the business development team with creative input, client meetings, presentations and proposal writings 

Output creation 

  • Conduct user requirements analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture design, interaction design, and usability testing. 
  • Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery. 
  • Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications. 
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually. 
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented. 
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, project management, business and brand strategists, and hardware and software developers.

  • Have a passion for creating impactful digital products that make a better everyday life for people
  • Have 2+ years of proven track record of leading digital design teams and delivering
  • Have 6+ years in-depth knowledge and experience of design digital services with consumer applications, preferably mobile devices, rich web apps/site and system design
  • Strong knowledge of design process and project management
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to cope with stress
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) 
  • Must be organized, analytical, and dynamic 
  • Bachelor degree in a design-related discipline
  • Highly value user-centered design, have a process-oriented mindset, are passionate in design, technology and people, and have an overall positive attitude
  • Have a proven track record of building design team and managing strong relationships with team members
  • A compelling portfolio of distinctive work showing product, service and web design, as well as strong storytelling skills
  • Consultative with the ability to switch between tactical execution and strategic thinking easily, and are able to navigate the complexities and needs of clients across industry and lifecycle
  • Confident enough in your opinion to make your voice heard
  • Care about the details and always putting your best foot forward
  • Strong customer-facing skills, both written and verbal, and experience in delivering complex design projects.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and manage multiple stakeholders

Bonus Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of User Experience (UX) research and design
  • Experience in digital product design and development
  • Experience working in digital agency environment
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Industrial Design, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction or any related field
  • Well-recognized UX Certification (e.g. Nielsen Norman Group: UX Certification or above, Human Factor International: Certified Usability Analyst - CUA or Certified User Experience Analyst - CXA)
